Hello world!

My name is Basu Sharma, and this is my story. Explore my background, my work, and the insights I've gained along the way.

Beyond the ordinary

I was born on September 29, 1950, in Nepal.  From humble beginnings in Nepal to a Ph.D. in the U.S.A. and a fulfilling academic career in Canada, my journey has been one of perseverance and discovery.

A career in academia

From 1985 to 2023, I was a professor of organizational studies at the University of New Brunswick. My academic interests lie in international business, negotiation, and economic development, among others. I've also had the privilege of holding visiting appointments at the National University of Singapore, Sultan Quaboos University in Oman and undertaking short-term assignments with the Singapore Institute of Labour, International Labour Organization, and Association of Deans of Management and Business Schools in Canada, among others.

Insights and contributions

My work encompasses over 90 publications, including "Aspects of Industrial Relations in ASEAN." I founded the Journal of Comparative International Management, serving as editor-in-chief for many years. Through my research and writings, I aim to provide useful insights on education, economic development, international management, and business negotiation.
